Apostle of God (Arabic: Rasul-Allah or Rasulallah) is a title given to Muhammad by Muhammad himself and was widely used by Muhammad's contemporary Muslims. It is also used by Muslims today, for example in speeches and sermons.
Muhammad had a ring that stated he was "Rasul-Allah", and his seal that he used on letters also included the phrase[citation needed].
When read in Arabic (right to left) it literally says 'Allah Rasul Muhammad'. This is because Muhammad put Allah's name first and his last as a sign of respect to Allah.
